Frequently Asked Questions About Hempseeds

Recipes | Nutritional Information | FAQs

What is different about Ziggy’s Hemp Rules seeds versus other seeds on the market?
We have introduced the world’s first roasted flavored hempseeds, along with the traditional shelled hempseeds (the inner meat of the seed). For our roasted flavored seeds, we leave the shell on, toast them and season them with our unique flavors, Caribbean Crunch and Sea Salt & Pepper. They are a great crunchy snack right out of the bag or on salads and soups in place of croutons or nuts.

How is agricultural hemp different than medical hemp (a.k.a. marijuana)?
Agricultural or industrial hemp has been grown around the world for centuries and was grown in the USA until the late forties in many Midwestern states. Today, the U.S. is forced to import billions of dollars of hemp from countries like China. The difference between agricultural hemp and marijuana is the level of THC, the active component of marijuana. Marijuana contains 3-15% THC. Agricultural hemp contains less than 0.3% THC. For more information on the difference between agricultural hemp and marijuana, please visit the USDA Economic Research Service.
